How Social Media Is Evolving Business

August 25, 2015GeneralMOTIONBORG

Social media has become a powerful tool for all business industries as a high percentage of individuals now own some type of social media account. Companies are always trying to figure out ways to be able to communicate with their clients but also how to increase their client numbers. What other better way of increasing these numbers than by actually approaching active social media users showing interest, making them feel valued and wanted. According to a study conducted by Duke University, has shown that an average budget of a company is only at 9% towards social media. But with the emphasizing of marketing department demonstrating the importance of social media, this number is expected to increase to nearly 22% in the next five years.

Some companies have been more active than others in recent years as some companies see the value of social media and extending their interaction with anyone who mentions the company’s name in any media account. Course of actions vary between companies as some focus on showing empathy for their clients who seem dissatisfied with previous experiences by immediately replying to that person’s post whether it’s on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc. As other companies do not show any empathy or interaction on social media, letting comments to be believable.

So why is it important to stay active in the social media world and how it can benefit a company?

Customer Acquisition: Being active in social media accounts is a potential way of teaching others about your company, what you offer, and how you can bring value to them.

Customer Service: Bringing immediate service to your current customers must be a priority in any company as current clients are the most important thing you currently have. Maintaining your current clients happy will continue to keep a good word spreading and avoid any negative comments online preventing others from wanting to join your network. As marketers always say, for every person that you know, they are likely discuss you in one way or another to six other people.

Customer Research: Through social media accounts a company can learn a whole lot about their clients. They have been able to learn their likes, dislikes, needs, and what they would change. This is easier than sending out surveys asking them to take time from their personal life for feedback. This is what we could consider real-time research, being able to learn as clients post about a particular item or service experience.

Customer Interaction: As human beings, we naturally like to talk and talk about the things we do. This means that many social media users usually post online with the expectations that someone will reply to their post. So why not continue to have a close interaction with current clients and expressing empathy for their satisfaction but also showing empathy for their dissatisfaction if that’s the case. Many companies offer a solution when they learn of a dissatisfied customer, bringing a point to show that they do care about product but more importantly about their clients who decide to do business with them.

These are all great ways of how to use social media as an advantage for your business and why it’s becoming important to stay active online with your clients.
