Evolution of web trends is taken very serious by many, particularly those who make it a habit of keeping websites current at all times. Some trends tend to carry supplementary changes than others, but eventually it will be necessary to make changes to every website to maintain its popularity or to meet search engine requirements. According to many web designers, the next trend should be taking effect in less than two years. I personally become very excited to know what the next thing is, and like to be ready for when it arrives.
Currently, many sites seem to be carrying the same layout and even becoming uncommon to not see similarities within them. The long wide background, parallax feature combined sections have become extremely popular. During this soon to be past trend, definitely made a great impact in turning websites responsive and effectively targeting a larger audience directly from their mobile devices.
So lets take a look at some of the predicted web trends that we should keep an eye out for in order to stay on top of the latest changes.
A Unique Touch of Creativity
No matter what industry we are in, it’s always important to have a unique touch of our own. Although many themes and layout might seem alike, the way we modify a website should include some of our own creativities that will stand out from another company’s website in the same industry. A new trend that has become popular are video being implemented to the header of the landing page. This creates several wonderful opportunities of being able to be different and intriguing someone’s mind immediately with an awesome wide screen and high resolution video. I’m personally a huge fan of this concept as it is becoming more and more popular for web development.
Color Evolution
Color layout is important especially when depicting an out of date page to a modern website. Using gradient colors was extremely popular in that past, but has shifted over to flat colors quite some time ago now. For now, it seems that this trend will continue to use flat colors as it has shown some great success and feedback from web users.
Vertical Full Page
Another trend becoming extremely popular are the long scrolling vertical websites. It’s a change that is evolving versus standard sites would carry at least several pages, where the viewer would have to navigate through pages to see the whole site. This is a very skeptical change for some web developers as it goes beyond what is just happening in the front end of the site. Some would describe this type of page a clean and slick view, making it simple and straight forward for the viewer. Others would disagree and feeling like they are viewing the half version of a full site. One long vertical web page reduces the amount of content displayed, but this trend seems to continue to grow popular and opinions also seem to grow evenly.
Typography
A standard Arial with 12-14 pt font is becoming part of the past and making its change to bolder and bigger fonts. Larger and bold fonts will continue to rise with upcoming trends and developments of themes. For those websites that will using long vertical websites, will need to be careful how they apply typography styles making sure that they are used in the right areas to retain that clean and simple look.
These are some changes we anticipate for the next trend change and will be important for those who like to be on top of the newest trends.
