bk2Experts say that the average person spends 8 hours and 41 minutes on their electronic devices. That is 1/3 of the day, but of those 8 hours and 41 minutes how much of that time is really being spent on a mobile device? Well, according to a survey provided by Pewsearch, approximately 64% of that time is mobile spent as the rest would be on a desktop or watching television. This is an immense percentage of time being spent on a mobile device and any business owner/marketers should grasp this numbers as a form of direction to targeting an increase of possible leads.  So how would a business website benefit of being mobile-friendly?

It’s important to know that on 23 April 2015, Google had updated their algorithm credentials suggesting for websites to become mobile-friendly. The con of not having this suggestion during the algorithm update meant that the company’s website could have lost their current ranking and losing ranking anywhere between 2-5 places depending on the competition and industry. As every company reaches to be the number one choice in a search result page, this could have tremendous impact in companies. This ranking is extremely important, statistics show that top 10 ranking companies tend to have incredibly much higher sales and clients than those who don’t appear on the first search results. Typically, the initial assumptions of those who appear on the first page are companies that are well established and reputable.

Everywhere we go we see someone on the phone only to show the high relevance of mobile usage. Wouldn’t we want to be promoting right in front of those who are looking for our services? Of course, so mobile-friendly websites are taking advantage of being seen quicker than those who don’t have this feature applied to their business website.

Here are other advantages of having a mobile-friendly website:

User Friendly: You always want your audience easily be able to navigate through your content and continue to stay versus being complicated and leaving because it was too difficult to understand the structure.

Quick Loading: A site ready for mobile tend to be quicker to load as the website does not have to expand at full-size. Smaller the space has to be covered, the quicker it would be filled in.

Customized Look: Mobile-friendly sites readjust the look of the website accordance of the device. This helps the viewer to avoid having to zoom in or out because it’s already at an adjust size.

Accessibility/Flexibility: This would fall under Google’s requirement. Following Google’s request will make it easier for others to find your site because of a satisfying ranking status.

Maps (app): If a physical location exists, maps (app) has become a very useful tool to see what services in general vicinity are available. People will tend to go to near place and see who they are doing business.

Checkout Easiness: Nowadays, many of us like to purchase on the go. If your site is mobile-friendly, the viewer is likely to purchase right there and then without having to look around because of urgency.

Promoting: Now that we discussed that a large portion of many of us spend our time on a mobile device, targeting this group by following all mobile-friendliness requirements would not be a bad idea.
