Do You Have a Website? Read Now, Before It’s Too Late

March 26, 2015General, Web Design, Website developmentMOTIONBORG

What if one day your business ranking on Google had drastically taken a toll affecting your traffic flow? Simply because you are not fulfilling Google’s new requirement of being a mobile friendly website. April 21st will be a significant day for websites, business owners and marketers all around the world. Google’s new implementations are far beyond wanting to be a pain, it’s a business strategic plan.

According to a Comscore newsletter, mobile usage has surpassed desktop norm. In 2007, approximately 400 million users were using their mobile electronics and about 1,100 users were using desktops to surf the internet. As technology continues to grow, Comscore has reported that as of 2015 there are approximately 1,900 users on their mobile device and 1,700 on their desktop per day. The trends of surpassing from one device to another should be a reflection of how we must make adjustments in business strategies, and that’s exactly what Google is doing. Targeting the right audience is the key.

So what exactly is a mobile friendly website first of all? A mobile friendly website is also known as a responsive web. A site that is able to optimize its functions no matter what device is being used to access the website. This means changing the landscape of web browsers immediately from desktop view to mobile view. This add-on allows the page to be user friendly and refraining viewers from leaving because of its uneasiness. Responsive pages will also soother the viewer by automatically re-sizing the format of the page no matter what device they decide to use, making their navigation experience more compelling. The following image shows responsive screen adjustments.

“Day by day, the number of devices, platforms, and browsers that need to work with your site grows. Responsive web design represents a fundamental shift in how we’ll build websites for the decade to come.” – Jeffrey Veen

That being said, Google wants to better accommodate the vast majority of their users coming April 21, 2015. The plan is to change their ranking algorithm system by prioritizing websites that are mobile friendly.

Here’s Google exact quote:

“Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results. Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high quality search results that are optimized for their devices.”

It is imperative for all businesses that plan on keeping their ranking to meet this requirement as soon as possible. Avoiding such action will only hinder the possibility of not showing up in search engines or limiting the appearance in Google’s search engine.

MOTIONBORG, Inc. had foreseen this requirement happening and being enforced by Google during 2015. In early 2014, MOTIONBORG, Inc. started advising all their clients about mobile friendly websites and its significance it would have coming 2015. Now that Google has released their statement, MOTIONBORG, Inc. is now exceedingly recommending all their clients to take immediate action before falling in between the cracks. Adjustments will be done by professional technicians and will not hinder any business operations during the time of transitioning sites to mobile friendly. Matter of convincing is not an option at this point; it simply comes down to making the right adjustments to your business before it’s too late.
This is an opportunity to increase your business ranking in Google, so call MOTIONBORG, Inc. now!
